I've said many times in my past about how I just cannot accept that life is not fair. It's been a major point of contention. If I have a belief in god, then justice should be served in some way. Positive thinking has always been touted as the way to draw like things to you. But after trying many different modes of thought, I've decided that the most important thing to do is accept what's happening, despite whether or not it's fair.
I saw a line that I really liked, "life is not fair nor is it unfair. It just is."
I really like that. So for the first time in my life, I'm accepting that sometimes really insanely unfair things happen. And sometimes no matter how good a person you are, how positive you are, or what you believe in, nothing is going to change that. And that's okay.
I still believe in karma, in the way that we will all eventually learn all these lessons. So someone treating us poorly in this life will need to learn how it feels and retribution. And for that I hope they learn it swiftly.
But I'm finally feeling a more stable sense of peace by not expecting anything from the universe. (Well, trying not to. I still really really want to win the lottery. Haha.) But through all the crap I'm going through right now, I find myself rather saying, this is how it is. So I might as well make the best of it.
I always wanted to punch people who told me that before because it seemed ridiculous that I would sacrifice "beliefs" or positive thinking and some all powerful God who would bless me if I followed his commands. But in the same way that I was a bit close minded with Christianity, so was I with understanding the thought that we really can only do the best we can.
I don't particularly like my lot in life. I feel like my whole life has been circumstances beyond my control leading me down ways that I don't like, but I'm just going to get through it, accept it, and see what cards lie in my next life.
This is at least where I am. I'm sure things will change, but I'm happy I've made some progress to accept some of what's been given to me.
Love.
